Salerno’s on Grand Avenue was a Chicago institution for decades before it closed. The family now runs a suburban chain — Villa Park, Oak Park — that carries the name on. The thing worth carrying: the “Salerno’s style” crust, thick and chewy, a pan pizza that stops just short of deep dish.
